The original's blend of stylish combat while playing as a badass demon hunter who's half demon and half human really made for a great dynamic. Good game I would say it ranks above DMC2 and below DMC1 above that being DMC3.Since 2001, Devil May Cry has become a franchise that many hold dear - and for good reason. If you're a DMC fan or a fan of hack and slash games then this is for you, or rather hitting things and feeling good about yourself.

I believe this to be a good game, but if you can't handle that there's next to no story then I'd recommend not playing it. I just didn't feel like putting more hours into the game because of how after the end I didn't feel like playing anymore due to knowing that the other 2 playthroughs are the same, but without cutscences oh and you play as stupidly op characters that make you roll over everything with barely any challenge. Overall the game is good if you like pulling off cool combos and looking cool while doing it. there's a part near the middle of the game that (not spoiling) you have to go somewhere, but this was probably the most lazy padding I've ever seen in a game you spend all the rest of the missions doing things you've already done only in reverse with silly gimmicks that barely change anything The bosses in the game are fine, I guess they're really easy and you roll over them most of the time. Combat is on the surface not complex and quite frankly appears if there's not a lot to work with, but there is there's a lot to work with and it's fun discovering and figuring that out especially when you get later in the game when it seems like it starts getting good. The combat in this game is really good it's one of the reasons that kept me playing till the end with the carboard cutout main character and his poorly written and hard to connect to motivations. Later in the game you see a bunch of really good cutscenes that remind me of DMC3 feels like a ray of light showing you a better more compelling story and interesting characters. Due to this the game feels as really repetitive and boring cutscenes have no real value other than to help you doze off to sleep. Devil May Cry 4 is a repetitive game about walking to where you need to go as you tread areas that are unexplained and have no real purpose other than to get you to where you need to be.
